When to Call an Electrician Right Away

Sparks, smoke, a burning smell, or an outlet that feels hot are signs to stop using the circuit and call for help right away.

If a breaker will not reset, or water has reached outlets or your panel, switch off power only if it is safe to do so and call an electrician.

We offer 24/7 emergency service across the Salisbury area.

Call right away if you notice

  • Sparks, smoke or a burning smell from an outlet, switch or panel
  • An outlet, plug or breaker that is hot to the touch
  • A breaker that will not reset, or that trips again immediately
  • Water in outlets, light fixtures or the panel
  • Lights that buzz, dim or flicker across several rooms

What to do while you wait

  • Stop using the affected circuit and unplug what you safely can
  • Turn off the breaker only if you can reach it safely and are dry
  • Stay away from the area if you see smoke or smell burning, and call 911 if there is a fire
  • Do not touch wet electrical equipment

When it can wait for a normal appointment

A dead outlet, a fixture you would like moved or a fan that needs installing is not an emergency. Book those as regular jobs and get a free written estimate.

If you are not sure which category you are in, call or text a photo. We will tell you whether it can wait.
