EV Charger Readiness Checklist for Your Home

A Level 2 charger is one of the most useful upgrades you can make if you drive an EV. Most of the cost comes from the wiring, not the charger itself. This checklist helps you see where you stand.

Check these first

  • Where will the car park, and how far is that from your panel?
  • Does your panel have an open double-pole space and enough capacity? A photo of the panel with its door open helps us tell.
  • Is the panel old, full, or showing rust or scorch marks?
  • Do you want the charger inside the garage or on an outside wall?
  • Do you rent? You will need your landlord's permission.

What affects the price

Installations start at $1,500 for a Level 2 charger. Distance from the panel, panel capacity, the charger you choose and permits move the price up or down. If the panel needs work, we will quote that separately so you can see each part.

What to have ready when you call

  • A photo of your panel and the spot where you want the charger
  • The make and model of your car and any charger you already own
  • Your preferred timing. We can plan around it.
